A Central Statistical Office report for October shows the level of prices has been 0.6 percent lower than in the same period last year and the trend is expected to continue.

"Fiscal policy doesn't even mention deflation. In Poland this is something rare, even novel,” says Bohdan Wyznikiewicz from the Institute of Market Economy Research.

But what is a headache to some can be good news for others.

The latest survey by Deloitte embracing 17 European countries shows Poles have declared to spend 13 percent more for Christmas this year than in the previous season.
