Eliminating violence directed against children is one of the basic duties and challenges faced by society.
On the occasion of Universal Children’s Day on 20 November, it is important not only because of the human rights imperative but also profitable from a purely economic perspective, reports Sławek Szefs.
“Each dollar invested in prevention of violence will bring a social return of eight dollars for society,” says Marta Santos-Pais, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General on Violence Against Children, quoting results of relevant international research.
