US enhancing Poland’s security through joint exercises

The Polish government has stated on numerous occasions that the presence of US soldiers on Poland's territory is highly beneficial from the point of tightening military cooperation and interoperability.

As Slawek Szefs reports, an opportunity to voice appreciation for American participation in joint training has been the latest ‘Heavy Detachment’ exercise held at Drawsko Pomorskie.

“This is a clear signal that the declaration made by President Obama during his summer visit in Warsaw - saying that Poland will never again be left alone by its allies - is supported by facts,” said MOD head Tomasz Siemoniak.

“Right now this is rotational but the plan is to keep the soldiers operationally ready in Poland. Just in case," US ambassador Stephen Mull told Polish Radio.
