Toronto-based architect Voytek Gorczynski tells Radio Poland’s Michal Kubicki: ‘It is estimated that 100 million people died as a result of communist regimes all over the world. It’s very hard to imagine what 100 million looks like and what it represents, and we tried in our project to show it physically.’
The main element of the design consists of 100 million so-called memory squares. The memorial is to be erected in the first half of 2016.
