  • Polish-Algerian trade set to grow?
Poland is interested in doing more business with Algeria, and with trade in goods between the two countries almost doubling in 2014 to exceed 739 million US dollars, Deputy PM and Economy Minister Janusz Piechociński tried to drum up support for greater cooperation between Warsaw and Algiers.

As John Beauchamp reports, apart from trade, Piechociński underlined that a possible deal cold be in the works which would see the Algerians making use of Poland’s long-awaited LNG terminal in the Baltic port of Swinoujście.

Piechociński put forward a proposal to Algerian Industry and Mining Minister Abdeslam Bouchouareb on the matter, with the latter saying “this project will be reviewed in greater detail, especially since the proposal involves the possibility of selling Algerian gas from the terminal in Świnoujście.”
