Just before leaving Warsaw he spoke with reporter Michal Kubicki about his fascination with the music of Kaper, ‘the first Pole to win an Oscar for a film soundtrack (1953, the musical ‘Lili’), composer of soundtracks to over 150 films and of popular jazz standards.’
Bronisław Kaper died in the US in 1983, aged 81.
