A website dedicated to the history of the Warsaw Rising wins the Oscars of the Internet

Warsawrising.eu, a website dedicated to one of the most tumultuous moments in Poland’s history, has won this year’s Webby Awards.
Scooping the world’s leading industry awards in the Cultural Institution and People’s Voice categories, the website has thus outpaced some 13,000 contestants from across the globe.
"We’re happy that this award comes at a time when the history of Poland is so often distorted or simplified abroad,” says Jan Ołdakowski, head of the Warsaw Rising Museum, the driving force behind the webpage.
“We want this website, which is available in three languages - Polish, English and French - to educate Internet users around the world.”
