Jewish Motifs Festival opens in Warsaw on May 8th, yet another important event devoted to the Jewish nation, the history, tradition and present day life.

There are dozens of film festivals devoted to the history of Jews in the world and they all aim at promoting through films, the centuries-old Jewish culture.
In Poland the history of Jews dates back to over a 1000 years, but over the centuries much of it had been forgotten.
The three-day film event in Warsaw is part of the wide ranging activities, which are to bring back to memory the rich history of Jews.
"We try to focus on the life of the Jewish diaspora the world over," Magdalena Łazarkiewicz, from the festival office, told Radio Poland’s Agnieszka Bielawska.
