The EU has given the green light to preparations for an operation against migrant traffickers in the Mediterranean.

Meanwhile, as Sławek Szefs reports, Poland has refrained from a clear declaration of participating in the naval mission.

"These issues are too important for speculation. Let us not run ahead of facts. First of all, there is the problem of international political decisions and only then can there be talk of any details,” MOD head Tomasz Siemoniak told Polish Radio.

The EU is awaiting a relevant United Nations Security Council resolution allowing the use of military force by the international naval teams in the Mediterranean.
