More and more government leaders are speaking of improving the well-being of citizens, rather than increasing GDP growth rate. Many experts claim that GDP cannot provide the full measure of well-being and very often it does not ensure sustainability of true progress.
Boston Consulting Group has published its Sustainable Economic Development Assessment, which is a diagnostic tool based on economic and investment data as well as on the social and environmental factors.
Agnieszka Łaszczuk reports on the study’s conclusions. Poland emerges as a top-performer.
“Poland actually has the best score of any country in the world at improving governance. Civil society, for example, is another area where Poland is improving, [also] education, environment,” said BCG’s Douglas Beal.
