Ukrainian Dnipro was a clear outsider of the game having won only six games since the start of the group stage, losing four times and scoring 13 goals.

"It was a good game but we played against a very good opponent and we simply lacked experience" Ukrainian Coach Myron Markevych told journalists after the game.

The undoubted hero of the match for Polish football fans was Poland's international, midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak who scored the first goal. The 25-year-old is only the fourth Polish player to appear in the final of the Europa League.

"I feel joy and euphoria. I managed to score my first goal at the National Stadium playing for Sevilla. This is an exceptional moment that I will not forget."

Krychowiak left Poland as a 15-year-old and was given a professional contract in France. He joined Sevilla last year and quickly became one of the most important members of Unai Emery's squad.
