As Michał Owczarek reports, the manuscript, dating back to 1918, indicates the necessity for the rebirth of Poland as an independent state.

On the reverse of his manuscript called “Wilson’s Note”, there are words of the famous “Thirteenth Point” included in Wilson’s Fourteen Point speech, delivered to the Congress in January 1918, which stressed the official US attitude to the future Poland.

“[The note] is an ordinary piece of paper with two sentences but what’s so important about is the contents and the hand that wrote it,” says Władysław Stępniak, Director of the State Archives.
