This one was devoted to the alarming situation of refugees from North Africa and the Middle East and ways of dealing with their tragic plight.
Speaking to reporters at the start of the summit European Council President Donald Tusk said there was no consensus among member states on mandatory quotas for migrants. He argued that the voluntary scheme cannot be an excuse to do nothing, Sławek Szefs reports.
“Solidarity without sacrifice is pure hypocrisy,” Tusk stressed.
