Voo Voo commemorates Warsaw Rising
After five years of Nazi occupation, the underground Home Army organised an uprising, which mobilised Warsaw residents to unite in a joint struggle for freedom.

The combat began on 1 August 1944. To commemorate the event The Warsaw Rising Museum every year arranges for projects including contemporary artists to spread the historical message to young people.
As Michal Owczarek reports, this year the alternative rock band Voo Voo was enlisted to give its reading of some obscure poems written during the Rising.
"As my father had been in the Warsaw Rising, for me this project was a little brick in the huge wall of memory," says Karim Martusewicz, the Voo Voo bass player.
