Due to the Ukrainian crisis, President Duda says he feels obliged to make Poland safer, recently claiming that NATO was treating Poland like a buffer zone.
Tomasz Ferenc spoke to Professor Jan Maria Nowak, former Polish ambassador to NATO.
“We are not a buffer zone and we will never be a buffer zone," Professor Nowak said.
“Because buffer zone means that if we are under attack, NATO will not move and will defend only old members.
“My own practice in the NATO structures, nor other elements of history would not support this thesis.”
