In a video and a series of interviews for Polish and Italian newspapers published last week, Krzysztof Charamsa, a senior priest in the Vatican, revealed that he is gay.

His statement came just one day before a high-level meeting of Roman Catholic leaders to discuss family issues, including divorce and homosexuality.

Agnieszka Łaszczuk reports.

“This has nothing to do with homosexuality in the church, because as a Catholic priest he is obliged to live in celibacy,” said Pawel Broszkowski, Deputy President of the Agreement of Catholic Intelligentsia Clubs (KIK) in Poland.
