Mandolin virtuoso Avi Avital came to play for the first anniversary of Polin, the Museum of History of Polish Jews in Warsaw; three Poles among the twenty pianists who qualified to the next stage of the 17th International Chopin Piano Competition now on in Warsaw; and Wojciech Dąbrowski of Wrocław's Teatr Komedia launches a madcap 300th gala edition of its production of "Shear Madness" ("Szalone Nożyczki") that will be in aid of a Foundation which supports spouses and children of police officers killed in service.
