Youth orchestra blooms in Poland
The Lutosławski Youth Orchestra, the brainchild of the Jeunesses Musicales Poland, brings together 54 musicians in the 14-18 age bracket, pupils of 25 music schools from across Poland.

Setting the scene for their concert in Warsaw, managing director Wojciech Walczak tells reporter Michał Kubicki that the goal of the project is not only to develop the teenagers’ musical skills but to help in their all-round development as human beings, making them able to embark on professional careers.
He says that the contacts with British musicians are vital for the success of the project.
“Our friends from the Philharmonia Orchestra of London, music coaches representing the top world league, are a big support. It’s not only about music-making. They give these young musicians hope and spiritual support,” Walczak says.
