Is green energy going to replace black coal in Poland?

The local construction industry is gradually welcoming solar panels, however, only to the extent that it does not affect property prices significantly.

Whether renewable resources could replace coal in Poland in the foreseeable future was the topic of a recent panel held by the Warsaw Institute for Economic Studies.

Our correspondent Michał Owczarek talked to Maciej Bukowski, the president of the institute.

We should expect, and that’s what the market expects, that within 10 years both wind [energy] and photovoltaics will probably be competitive on the [Polish] market without any kind of subsidies,” Maciej Bukowski said.
