Poland is one of the five Central European states with which China signed a cooperation agreement within the so called Silk Road.

Chinese authorities consider that this part of Europe plays a key role in the scheme. The deal was one of the many which resulted from the five-day visit of the Polish head of state in mainland China. Andrzej Duda described it as very good and giving hope for future initiatives.

“One of the most attractive strategic projects is the OBOR- One Belt One Road, commonly known as the Silk Road project, which is investment in a huge infrastructure project to develop better connection between China and Europe (..), which means there is lots of money available and if we (Poland) are smart enough to propose our project involvement, we would definitely gain our profits out of it” says Krystyna Palonka from the Poland-Asia Research Center.
