A wide range of tools are used at an archaeological site, some of which may be very familiar – like shovels and trowels.
More and more archaeologists, however, are using non-destructive methods of archaeological research.
Agnieszka Łaszczuk spoke to Michał Pisz, a young researcher who uses non-destructive methods in archaeology to study ancient Roman settlements in Romania.
“This is for example remote sensing, aerial photography and aerial thermography. Me personally I do not do excavations,” Pisz said.
Michał Pisz was awarded “Diamond Grant”, a scholarship of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for outstanding young students-researchers.
