Sławek Szefs reports that, anticipating Moscow’s strongly negative reaction to the decision by NATO's defense ministers, Alliance chief Jens Stoltenberg said he would be explaining the move to the Russian foreign minister during an upcoming Security Conference in Munich.

Meanwhile, Poland’s Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski remains sceptical with regard to Russian perception of the purpose of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

"There will be a rhetorical uproar because Russia does not understand NATO's defensive alliance character, which does not have any confrontational doctrine and unites countries sharing certain values, like democracy and free market principles,” Waszczykowski told Polish Radio.
