According to the latest UN estimates, weather anomalies have caused a severe crisis in East Africa with over 18 million people in need of humanitarian aid.

Together with international organisations the Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) has launched an appeal to help fund humanitarian aid in the region.

The Polish Humanitarian Action has been conducting activities in Africa for some ten years now, It has been in South Sudan since 2006 and in Somalia since 2011, specializing in water, sanitation, and hygiene projects. The organization is also helping in a project of supplementary alimentation for children and pregnant women in clinics in Mogadishu.

Karol Skałowski from PAH underlines that the present crisis in east Africa calls for basic humanitarian needs:

Food, security and water access,” are the chief problems, he said, adding that the organisation intends to expand its present water projects and if funds allow PAH will also deal with introducing food projects.”
