  • The buzz around insect innovation
Insects are the heroes of a new wave of 'bio-recycling' that is being pioneered in Robakowo, western Poland.

Robakowo means Wormville, and his small village near Poznań is where one can find the first mass production of 30 species of insects in this country.

They are the sort of livestock that eats the remains of vegetables, and doesn’t need heating.

Ecological, healthy and cheap? Is it the future of our food?

Professor Damian Józefiak, co-founder of SpinOut Company Hipromine is convinced it is.

As for our eating insects – we’re just not aware how much we do eat, unknowingly, as red food dye for instance.

Nonetheless, “for sure they are much more natural than imported soybeans” as he tells Kalina Olejniczak.
