Hungarian Year in Poland officially starts on May 19, with a rich programme of events planned dedicated to the Hungarian language, culture, cooking and wine to start with.

Shared history over several centuries will be explored, with są pecial focus on the twentieth.

As Ambassador to Poland Istvan Gyurcsik told Elżbieta Krajewska, the year was organized to coincide with the anniversary of 1956 - the revolt in Poznań which sparked critical events in Hungary.

As he adds, the proverbially good Polish-Hungarian relations are long – and this is something that is “good to remind about”, especially the younger generations.
