Freedom House is an independent US-based press-freedom watchdog which was cofounded in 1941 by Eleanor Roosevelt, among others. It publishes an annual report on the state of media independence around the globe.

Roberto Galea spoke to Arch Puddington, Senior Vice President for Research at Freedom House to discuss a recent report by the Law and Justice (PiS) government in Poland on the eight years of the pervious coalition which allegedly uncovered a long list of corruption, financial mismanagement and, perhaps most worrying of all, evidence that dozens of journalists had been put under surveillance.
