Poland among safest European countries for Jews: Holocaust foundation chief

President Andrzej Duda’s condemnation of anti-Semitism earlier this week reflects the fact that Poland has become one of the safest European countries for Jews, Jonny Daniels, the head of a European Holocaust foundation, has said.

"From the Depths”, an international organisation dedicated to preserving the memory of the victims of the Holocaust, recently decided to honour Poles who risked their lives to save Jews with medals named after Jan and Antonina Żabiński, the former director of the Warsaw Zoo and his wife who gave temporary shelter to some 300 Jews in their villa during World War II.

Jonny Daniels spoke to Radio Poland in a recent interview.
