The French ambassador to Poland said that the timing of the attack was no accident, adding: “July 14 is a national holiday. It is a day of happiness and unity around the values which are common to all of us. The attack is disgusting and nauseating.”

Andrzej Mroczek, a Polish expert from the Terrorist Research Center of Collegium Civitas, said the attacker “did not have to use explosives or weapons. Although he did shoot as well, he only needed a truck to carry out a terrorist attack with such a number of casualties.”
