Agnieszka Łaszczuk reports on the terrorist threat in Europe ahead of World Youth Days, to be held in the Polish city of Kraków next week.
“European Union members states are probably not doing enough to deal with what is now a severe threat from extremist organizations,” Seth G. Jones, director of the International Security and Defense Policy Center at the RAND Corporation, said in an interview with the PAP news agency.
Krzysztof Liedel, an expert on counter-terrorism from Collegium Civitas, an academic institution and think-tank, told PAP that World Youth Days organizers face a specific set of challenges. “World Youth Days is a very difficult event to secure due to its large scale,” Liedel said.
