In June the Central Statistical Office reported that the unemployment rate in Poland stood at 8.8 percent, 0.3 percentage points lower than May.

According to the EU's barometer the Eurostat, Poland is now among ten top EU states with the lowest unemployment. The recent data is similar to the level of unemployment in Poland back in October 2008, and analysts point that the improvement on the labour market has been visible over the past several months.

Łukasz Bugaj from the BOŚ Brokerage House says that: “This data is very positive for the average citizen because it shows a change from the employers market to the employees market, although, of course, the change is not visible in all possible sectors of the economy”.
