‘The Pope told me: you must have courage’
Ton Oliveira, who spent several months in Poland working as a volunteer for the World Youth Days in Kraków, says that “all the effort and time invested in the preparations for the event was worthy”.

He told Radio Poland: “Addressing the volunteers, Pope Francis said ‘You must have courage’. That’s what I take for my life because I needed a lot of courage to decide to come to Poland without knowing the language and the country and now I need courage to move forward and take decisions in my life based on what God wants from me.”
While in Poland, Pope Francis heard confessions from several young people. Ton Oliveira was one of them.
