Since August 2014, when an embargo was imposed on Polish food by Russia, Poland’s exports to that country have dropped dramatically.

As Michał Owczarek reports, two years on, some Polish producers would like to see the EU lift its sanctions on Russia, hoping that Moscow would then waive its own embargo.

“Russia was our trading partner for many, many years, purchasing mainly fruit and vegetables. So reopening... that market would certainly be beneficial for the Polish agriculture,” says the president of the National Council of Agricultural Chambers, Wiktor Szmulewicz.
