Medals, world records and surprises - a look at the second week of the performance of Polish athletes at the Games in Rio de Janeiro.

In one of the biggest surprises, the Polish men’s handball team have beaten Croatia 30:27 in the quarter-finals of the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Also, Marta Walczykiewicz has taken the silver in the women's kayak single 200 metre sprint while her countrywomen Beata Mikołajczyk and Karolina Naja took bronze in the women's kayak doubles 500 metre race. Discus thrower Piotr Małachowski has won a silver and hammer thrower Anita Włodarczyk won the gold medal when she threw 82.29 metres simoultaneously setting up a new world record.
