In addition to French, Italian or Spanish as optional languages, Scottish schools could introduce Polish as a subject in an effort to make the Polish community feel more welcome.

In an interview with Zofia-Wierzbowicz Fraser, the chairman of the Polish Education Committee at the Consulate General of Poland in Edinburgh, Michał Owczarek tries to find out what has sparked such a sudden piece of news.

“We have over 12,000 Polish children in Scottish schools with no possibility of sitting exams in their own language. We want to make that a possibility in the future. When this’ll happen is very difficult to say,” Zofia Wierzbowicz-Fraser said.
