Team Poland has won 11 medals in Rio Games in total: two golds, three silvers and six bronzes making it the best result in 16 years.

Among the biggest surprises were Oktawia Nowacka who won the bronze in the modern pentathlon, hammer thrower Wojciech Nowicki who clinched third place in his discipline and javelin thrower Maria Andrejczyk who has finished fourth with a throw just two centimetres shorter than the bronze-medal winner. The biggest star, as could have been expected, was hammer thrower Anita Włodarczyk
