HIGH NOTE :: Concert of Independence

The tenth season of the concert which has brought crowds to the Warsaw Rising Museum takes in one of the first battlefields of World War 2: Westerplatte in Gdańsk. Polish-Canadian Jazz vocalist and composer Ola Turkiewicz is one of the initiators of the event, which now has a library of 90 hybrid arrangements of historic military songs, as well as contemporary music, and ten different scenarios to a historical narrative.

The Concert comes to the peninsula of Westerplatte in Gdańsk on September 1, the anniversary of the outbreak of World War 2, then follows on with a tour to Brampton in Canada on September 16, and returns to the Warsaw Rising Museum on November 10th and 11th. Also September 10 will see the premiere of an album with music under the title "Concert of Independence" under Polish Radio patronage. High Note is presented by Elżbieta Krajewska.
