EU meets (sans UK) in Bratislava

The aim was to discuss elements of a common strategy for the nearest months in view of challenges faced by the Union following Brexit, including the omnipresent migration crisis.

Sławek Szefs reports that the majority of participants assessed the results positively, though this optimism has not been fully shared by all Union countries.

Polish PM Beata Szydło said that at the start of the process of change in Europe there can be no taboo topics among EU members.

“If we are attempting to introduce changes within the Union, we must diagnose and define our major problems and talk about everything,” Poland’s government leader told reporters.
