New season at Polish National Opera
The head of the Polish National Opera’s marketing department, Marcin Fedisz, tells Radio Poland that co-productions are necessary these days “if you want to make opera on a high level, because of the money factor and of an international cast.”

The 2016/17 season in Warsaw has opened with a revival of Weinberg’s “The Passenger”, a joint production with the Bregenzer Festspiele in Austria, the English National Opera and Teatro Real in Madrid.
Next week Wagner’s “Tristan and Isolde”, which was staged in Warsaw in June in a co-production with the Metropolitan Opera, opens a new season at the Met.
