One of them, drafted by the "Stop Abortion" committee, signed by some 450,000 Poles, would allow a full ban on terminations.
Meanwhile, the "Save Women" committee has collected more than 215,000 signatures backing a pro-choice bill which would allow abortion on demand up to the 12th week of pregnancy.
Sylwia Zborowska of the Stop Abortion committee said her group’s proposal is not “a bill introducing a ban on abortion, it’s a bill ensuring the protection of human life from conception. Children, before and after birth, must be given the same legal protection.”
