A debate dedicated to Poland's eastern policy was held by Polish Radio with the main focus on Russia's increasingly aggressive behaviour, difficult historical dialogue with Ukraine and problematic contacts with Belarus.

The debate, which was co-hosted by the Polish Institute of International Affairs, was led by the Institute’s head, Sławomir Dębski.

On the panel were also Michał Dworczyk, MP of the ruling Law and Justice party, as well as opposition Civic Platform MP, Paweł Zalewski.

All three generally agreed that the chief objectives of Poland’s eastern policy remain constant: “security of the Polish state which we want to achieve by supporting countries to the east of Poland in their European bids; supporting civic societies in those countries where there is no democracy like Belarus and Russia; being ambassadors to countries striving towards Europe like Ukraine and others,” summed up Michał Dworczyk, adding that “what also doesn't change is the behaviour of Russia in this part of Europe”.
