Polish scientists along with European space experts are facing an anxious wait before they can learn whether Europe’s first Mars landing has been successful.

The Poles are not only excited because of the unique nature of the mission, but also because Polish space research centers and companies have been involved in the project.

As Michał Owczarek reports, one of the instruments on the mission’s orbiter is a high resolution camera that bears a bit of Polish technology.

“The orbiter is especially important for us since it bears a bit of Polish electronics and Polish technology. Our center was responsible for designing a power converter module to support the CaSSIS camera,” said Małgorzata Michalska of the Space Research Centre.
