Sławek Szefs reports that a strong stimulus for the move has been the latest deployment of Russian Iskander ballistic missiles to the Kaliningrad exclave, in the vicinity of the Polish border, which is also the external boundary of NATO.

This development is additional proof that the decision of sending multinational battalions to the Baltic states, including Poland, taken at the Warsaw NATO summit in July has been well substantiated.

“This is not to provoke a conflict but to prevent conflict,” NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, declared in Brussels.
