The situation in the war-torn Donetsk region of Ukraine, reforms, military cooperation and historical ties were the issues which dominated by the state visit to Poland of Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko.

“Poland has supported Ukraine in its democratisation and independence processes for 25 years now,” said president Andrzej Duda, underlining that the visit coincided with the 25 anniversary of recognising Ukraine as an independent state.
In Warsaw, President Petro Poroshenko said that Poland is the example for Ukraine in its reform process.
“The spirit of independence gave Poland not only freedom, but also unity and prosperity. That is why so many of the reforms in Ukraine are based on the Polish scenario.”
