The agreement signed in Warsaw “defines the legal status of the agency and its employees in Poland. The agreement will also allow Frontex to build its new headquarters in Warsaw on land provided by the Polish government,” a statement read.

The deal also “puts an end to the years’ long negotiations and defines the status of Frontex in Poland”, said Interior Minister Mariusz Błaszczak at the signing ceremony

“Frontex will now have its permanent headquarters in Poland, in Warsaw… For years Frontex has had the status of a guest in Poland, a most welcome one but still a guest. Today we can say that Frontex is a co-host here in Poland – in Warsaw.”
