Injured Polish champion gets support
Fans and friends from a speedway club in Grudziądz, northern Poland, on Tuesday staged a run around the National Stadium in Warsaw in support of speedway champion Tomasz Gollob who had sustained a severe spinal cord injury.

As Michał Owczarek reports, they have also started a fundraiser for the champ’s treatment.
“A champion should know that he or she is important and close to our hearts not only when they win medals and set us on fire while competing in the arena but also when they are in need as humans,” said race walking champion Robert Korzeniowski.
