Baritone Domen Križaj won the first prize in the men's voices, and soprano Mojca Bitenc came second the female voices contest, where first prize was not awarded this year.

The Ada Sari competition, named after the famous Polish soprano of the first half of the 20th century, attracted almost 70 young singers from 17 countries.

Founded in 1985, the competition is held every two years.

This year’s 17th edition of the event for the first time could be followed via live streaming online.

Elżbieta Krajewska first asked Małgorzata Walewska, mezzo-soprano and artistic director of the competition, about her feelings as the decisions were announced and the vocal trials were over.
