Nowicki, who was born in the UK into a Polish family, told Radio Poland that his Vistula Run aims to raise funds for treatment for his friend's eight-month-old son.
In 2012, Nowicki covered the London-Edinburgh route in 15 days, raising funds for the Scottish Association for Mental Health.
