Polish clergy working on religious missions in conflict-stricken regions of the world received anti-terror training to help them in their challenging and highly dangerous undertakings.

Sławek Szefs reports that the brief summer recess for some Polish priests and nuns engaged in such missions is a good opportunity to discuss the issue of their safety and learning practical steps to ensure at least a basic degree of security in their difficult everyday tasks.
Father Wojciech Faliszewski has spent five years in the Democratic Republic of Congo working on a mission at Bondo in the north of the country.
He said that 19 children from a nearby village had been kidnapped and tortured by rebels of the so-called Lord’s Resistance Army.
"A girl […] who tried to escape was caught and killed in front of their eyes," Father Faliszewski told Polish Radio.
