NATO defence ministers talk defence spending and policy

NATO defence ministers met in Brussels on Thursday to discuss a wide gamut of topics ranging from defence spending to Alliance policy vis-a-vis Russia.

Sławek Szefs reports that on the eve of the ministerial talks NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed information on Donald Trumps' visit to Poland next week.

The US president is to meet with Polish leaders and those from several other NATO allies from Central and Eastern Europe.

Stoltenberg said the US's role in increased NATO presence and its bilateral presence [in the region] was important and the strongest sign of commitment to Article Five.

“Actions speak louder than words,” the NATO chief observed.
