US president visits Poland

US President Donald Trump on Thursday held talks with Polish President Andrzej Duda and took part in the Three Seas Initiative conference during a visit to Warsaw.

He discussed issues including security and energy cooperation.

In a speech in Warsaw in front of the Warsaw Uprising Monument, full of detailed references to Poland’s often turbulent history, Trump said: “I am here today not just to visit an old ally but to hold it up as an example for others who seek freedom and who wish to summon the courage and the will to defend our civilisation.”
